Happy Summer Solstice! I’m away from home for my first holiday in longer than I can recall.
Sans bike, I’m walking the beaches of Vancouver Island’s west coast—a long-awaited break from city-slicking.
After a less than summery June, all outdoor enthusiasts are ready for some milder weather. Thankfully, the weather prognosticators are promising a couple of days respite during my getaway. Unfortunately, the rain is supposed to return for the weekend.
Oh, well, we’re British Columbians—rainwear authorities.

In the sixth picture (red/orange shirt), the woman to the left I thought was Miley Cyrus (at least when I looked quickly).
