How many of you received your first bicycle as a Christmas present? I’ll bet a good number, and that the memory recalls one of the most exciting holiday seasons ever. Can you remember a Christmas Day ride as the beginning of bicycling bliss, that first flush of freedom and adventure?

I’d love to hear about your “best present ever.”

As in other Christmas blog posts, I like to add a little musical cheer.

Music has always been a big part of the holiday; not just the traditional carols, but the stuff that stuffs stockings … at least in those halcyon days of tangible vinyl records and, later, polycarbonate CDs. (These days, ancient audiophiles haunt the musty isles of retro record stores).

With help from Nora and One Left, here’s wishing your wishes come true.

You’re welcome! Thanks for creating this classic-in-the-making Christmas jingle.

A surly Ho, Ho , from all the Truckers out here, but due to resource management and the price of coal , plus elves don’t speak mandarin, there will a caloric equivalent lump of dung {cooking fuel }in your stocking . But if your cycling around the Critical Mass tree , light up ! PS I got a life size action figure of “Mr Hankey ” in a sleigh , Yes Virgina , Mr Floaty has visitors home for the holidays .

Might be best year this year! Fine bottle of single malt and a Rawland stag frame to arrive in the new year all ready to build up!

John: It doesn’t get much better than that! No new bike for me, but I do have a bottle of Auchentoshan.

Since I didn’t start riding a bike until I was 16/17 I can’t say much about receiving a bike for Christmas.

Although I received it a week before Christmas, my DSLR was probably my best gift… Although I’m loving my tablet this year!

Merry Christmas and Happy new year

Yes, next to a bike, a camera has to be the best gift. I got my first, a Kodak Brownie, when I was 7-years-old. That started another obsession.

This year, I got a battery grip for my relatively new DSLR.

All the best of the season to you too, Ryan. Happy snapping!
