Happy Christmas and a merry goo year

As I’ve mentioned before, in the ’60s I was a member of the Official Beatles Fan Club. Every year, I eagerly awaited the arrival of the members-only Beatles Christmas Record. I brought these treasures to Canada with me and, as you might imagine, they were wildly popular with my new Canadian pals.

Unfortunately, someone could not resist the irreverent wit of the Fab Four—or more likely the records’ pecuniary value. The rare, floppy vinyl 45s disappeared from my record rack in short order.

Now, thanks to YouTube and its dedicated archivists, I can reveal to you a major contributor to my wasted youth. It’s amazing to discover, though with every passing year I seem to lose important brain data—like birthdays and anniversaries—I can still follow along word-for-word with these long-lost bits of Beatle memorabilia.

Merry Krimble all!

What a great shot! You caught Santa in training for his annual rounds.
Reports out of Alaska are that The Jolly Old Elf has been relegated to
doing his Christmas Eve chores on pushbike ever since Sara Palin shot
Rudolf last year. How very sad. We’re told she bagged him at night using
AAA (“Ack-ack”, “Archie”, “Flak”, or “Anti-aircraft”) fire. It was that
dammed nose of his what made him a dead giveaway! She just had to know
how far to lead him to score a direct hit, and down he went, trailing smoke.
Never made it south of 60N. ‘o [
