Monday Memo:
I’ve been promising for some time now a merge of content in the overall VeloWeb environment. I haven’t forgotten my pledge but there are a number of technical considerations (some of them stretching my skills) and decisions to be made about how to deal with some older content.
Top on that list, but admittedly neglected until last week, was some of the ancient frames-based photo-galleries buried in an accordian sub-menu on the VeloWeb photo page.
Most of those have now been moved into galleries attached to stories on this blog—as on the previous post to this. I’m working on the story to accompany photos from the remaining 2005 gallery.
Then that will also disappear … poof! At first I was considering archiving (pre-dating) those posts as I have with content from the story page (which will also be consigned to history) but decided, hey, why not feature it up front?
What to do with the photo page itself and the main flash gallery; to remove or rework? This confounding question remains.
Coming soon
Besides tying up those loose ends, this week I’m moving forward on a couple of new pieces—one of them a historical tale of mountain adventure, and a new look at some classic bicycle luggage.
