Bicycle freedom and free beer

What could be better?

Last week, I came upon a couple of bottles of the rare and coveted Tour de Victoria Summer Ale, prepared by local Victoria Spinnakers brew pub.

With all the excitement surrounding the Stanley Cup hockey playoffs, I put them in the fridge ready to celebrate (or drown my sorrows) during the final game(s).

Then it occurred to me that they might be put to better use … and shared. So I’ve decided to offer them as an attraction for local Victoria cyclists who’d like to discuss the freedom of two wheels, or anything, over a cold one.

The first couple of people to contact me via my Twitter account or comment below will be eligible to sample this rare brew. If you don’t have an account it’s easy to sign up and you can use your first tweet to solicit beer—in 140 characters or less. Runners-up  will be chosen by social pedigree. We’ll arrange for some other beverages with cycling themed labels. Let’s make a date!

Update: I just found 2 more bottles—Double the fun!

Well I’m always up for a chat about bicycles over a cold beer.

You’re in, Chris. We’ll discuss and pick a date.

Is this a trick, Ray? Too good to be true!

Raymond Parker June 15, 2011 at 11:01 am

No trick at all, Susanna. There’s a glass for you!

It looks like there is one beer left, I hope I’m right! Nothing like a beer and talking bikes. Cheers, Ray.

There should be enough, John. Will keep you posted on date/time.

Thank you Raymond, looking forward to meeting you, the beer will be a bonus.
