Season’s greetings from VeloWeb

Last year I brought you a slightly silly Beatles Christmas.

This year I offer a shorter though no less festive greeting, with best wishes for the holiday season and 2012, from the balmy shores of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Clip-clop. A horse whinnies. An operatic caroller’s voice, drifts up from the harbour, over which the sun sets on this short winter day.

Ding-dong-ding-dong, ding-dong-ding-dong; imitating Big Ben, the carillon strikes five.

The Parliament Building illuminations, and the lights strung on the great sequoia on their grounds, twinkle along the promenade.

Across the Salish Sea, pale cloud snakes around the tops of the Sooke Hills and Washington’s Olympic Peninsula.

May you and your family enjoy all the fruits of your labour.

Cheers!
