In the last few years, New York City has undertaken a massive cycling infrastructure project (to the horror of many regressive types), retrofitting hundreds of kilometres of bike lanes.

These have not only served to attract new bicycle commuters to the downtown, they have “humanized” the urban landscape, attracting people to the calmed boulevards.

In this Streetfilms short, new “biker” Kimberly White enthuses about her new lifestyle as a two-wheeled traveller and bicycle commuting proponent.

Great video!
I was a “late peddler” as well. I taught myself when I was 16 or 17 to ride a bike and have been ever since!

It’s an inspiring little report, isn’t it? I’m particularly impressed that she is so aware of the social implications of her choice.
